Revolution Education have released a range of new Picaxe devices: - Picaxe 14M
- Picaxe 28X1
- Picaxe 40X1
.
The 14M device is like the big brother to 08M chip, with the same basic functionality but more I/O pins. The price is very close to that of the 08M as well. I think this should probably be the new entry level device. It offers so many more possibilities, compared to the08M, but the price difference is neglible. The new 28X1 and 40X1 offer: Double the memory and double the number of variables New additional 128 byte scratchpad RAM area New improved high speed serial interfacing (with timeouts) High speed i2c, spi, 1-wire, and infra-red interfacing i2c slave mode for simple PICAXE to PICAXE networks Internal resonator for simplified circuits On-screen line by line simulation with real-life inputs/outputs
These very powerful devices should provide a great basis for experimetation |
